Weddings make up the majority of our ceremonies, but we would love to help you celebrate and honor other meaningful life events. We have crafted ceremonies including memorials and personal or family milestones, such as the blending of families, baby blessings, graduation rituals, house blessings and more.
Yes, we do! We are ministers rooted in the progressive Christian tradition, but our job is to articulate your story and your journey. We help you write a ceremony that is authentic and meaningful for you. So, because this process is about you, we are capable of providing spiritual and non-spiritual ceremonies, mixed-traditions ceremonies, even secular ceremonies. That’s our specialty, and that’s what we think sets us apart as officiants.
It depends on what you are hiring us to do, of course. Don’t be afraid to ask us about pricing. Our goal is always to be transparent and honest.
Wedding ceremonies, including a rehearsal, are $600. We ask you to pay half when you sign a contract and half on the day of the wedding. Sometimes we’ll ask for travel fees, which you will know in advance.
Micro-weddings, which include fewer than 30 people and do not include a rehearsal, are $300.
Premarital coaching sessions are $100 an hour. We recommend three sessions.
Rituals around birth and death are $300.
No. We do not take commissions of any kind from vendors.
First, we set up a phone call or Zoom meeting to get to know one another. If we’re a match, we’ll ask you to sign a contract that spells out all the details. Then the fun begins! Together, we begin creating your customized ceremony. We’ll talk with you about your journey as a couple, your values, what kind of ceremony you envision, and favorite readings and rituals. We keep writing and working alongside you to make sure everything is exactly right.
Whoever you interview and contract with is who shows up at your ceremony.
However, if there is any kind of emergency on our part, you can be confident you will be notified and not surprised. There is always a backup plan with Central Ceremonies. We are a team and part of a well-connected network of professional, ordained clergy and licensed officiants who can fill in for us, so you will never be left without an officiant.
We most often wear our clerical robes, sometimes with a stole and sometimes without. However, sometimes the robe just doesn’t fit your story, so we will be in professional attire and neutral colors, if you prefer.
Our home base is Austin and Central Texas, but we love to travel! We’ve done weddings all over Texas, as well as in Florida, Washington, DC, and Virginia. We’ve even done destination weddings outside the US. We’d love to come to you or travel with you. Travel fees are negotiated prior to signing a contract. Let’s go!
