Question: What do you do for a living?
Answer: I marry people. Lots of people!
Insert awkward silence.
Well, ok. Actually, I have been married to only one person: Joey.
BUT – I joined Central Ceremonies in 1997, and have owned it since 1999. So, that’s over 25 years of marrying couples – as in, I am the officiant who presides at your wedding, and makes it beautiful (and legal)! In those two-plus decades, I have had the privilege of meeting the most amazing couples, and hearing the best love stories.
I want to meet you, and write about your love story.
Academically speaking (and I do like academics), I am a graduate of St. Agnes Academy, The University of Texas, The LBJ School of Public Affairs, and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where I was awarded the Newell Fellowship for academic and pastoral achievement. That husband I mentioned? He says I have now earned enough degrees.
When I am not writing and delivering beautiful wedding ceremonies (or other rituals) for my couples, I am cycling at the spin studio, at an Austin FC match, or hanging out with Joey, and sometimes our two delightful adult children.
